EDU LIVE SCREENING
FRIDAY, MAY 20

MINNESOTA YOUTH FILMMAKERS TO SCREEN AT MSP FILM AT THE MAIN

WHEN: Friday May 20, 10:30 am to 3:00 PM. School groups can begin checking in at 9:30 am. See the day's schedule here.

WHERE: MSP Film at the Main (formally St. Anthony Main Theater) 115 SE Main St, Minneapolis, MN 55414

WHO: Everyone! EDU Film Festival is a free event, open to the public. We encourage school groups; parents, friends, and neighbors; and the general film-loving public to experience the work of Minnesota's next generation of filmmakers.

FOCUS: In an effort to expand and promote the perspectives presented by the future leaders in the film and TV industry, the EDU Film Festival screens youth filmmakers from around the state of Minnesota. We promote and recognize young women filmmakers, youth filmmakers of color, and young filmmakers who identify as LGBTQ+.

IT'S FREE: There is no cost for submission or for festival attendance and the festival is open to the public. We are supported entirely by grants, donations, and sponsorships.

LIVE & IN-PERSON: For the first time since 2019, EDU is live and in-person, but some or all of the festival will be streamed and available for screening online for a limited time after the event to allow schools with transportation or field trip limitations to experience the festival.

STATE OF PLAY: Youth activities, including the arts and media production have been severely impacted by the pandemic. EDU Film Festival and the Northern Film Alliance is doing everything we can to aid schools to reignite youth passion for filmmaking, animation, and other media arts. We do this by providing curriculum, school visits by filmmakers and educators, educator summits, and of course this annual showcase.

Please consider supporting Minnesota youth by attending the festival and/or becoming an EDU sponsor or donor. We depend upon your donations!
